We are looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Urology- Prostate Care to join our Urology team as they roll out a rapid diagnostic pathway for suspected prostate cancers. This exciting new opportunity has arisen as part of a work programme with RMH Partners to improve the diagnostic pathway for prostate cancer across SW London. Epsom and St Helier is a pilot site for the RAPID pathway for suspected prostate cancer.

The post holder will be actively involved in leading and managing our team of cancer specialist nurses across urology tumour sites.

The clinical workload will include involvement in the entire prostate pathway including telephone assessment clinics to determine suitability for a straight to diagnostic test pathway (MRI/ Template biopsy).

The post holder will be encouraged to perform diagnostic prostate template and targeted biopsies following appropriate training. They will be part of the team that then uses the results of these specialist investigations (e.g. blood tests, MRI, template biopsy) to assist formulation of the diagnosis and plan the patients management with the MDT. This post requires a nurse who can work autonomously, has excellent assessment and clinical decision making skills, extensive experience in urology/ cancer, is ideally educated to Masters level and has expert written and verbal communication skills.
